Important Updates

  • Package Bees Pickup Information - A note from our PresidentHello JCBA beekeepers,

  • We are still on track to deliver bee packages to the parking lot of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens on Friday, April 3, at 4 PM. Below is our list of everyone who has placed an order. Please review this list, and if there are any inaccuracies, text or call me immediately at (205) 903-4600.

Please note that this process is not a social gathering. As per the Alabama State Health Department guidance, you will need to maintain a six-foot distance between persons. I would appreciate it if you would pick up your order and promptly depart. At this point, I think everyone should be traveling with a hand sanitizer, and if you are sick, please arrange for someone else to pick up your package for you.

The package installation demonstration that had been planned at the BBG for Friday, April 3rd has been cancelled. If you need advice on how to install your package, I suggest that you contact your mentor or review videos on YouTube. Here are two that I have watched and think are reasonable:

If you have any other issues or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at the above number.

    Michael Steinkampf
    President, Jefferson County Beekeepers Association
